Training Programs Psychoanalytic Treatment of Children and AdolescentsIMPORTANT NOTE: This seminar, which was originally scheduled to begin in October 2008, has been postponed until January 2009. Designed for practitioners with beginning to moderate levels of experience, this 10 week series combines both didactic material and case examples to demonstrate analytic thinking and techniques in the treatment of children and adolescents. Specific topics include an introductory review of classic and contemporary psychodynamic theory, a dynamically based intake/consultation model, the uses and functions of therapeutic play, and current analytic treatments for selected childhood disorders. Readings will be provided and students will be encouraged (but not required) to present cases for discussion and feedback. Presenters: Janine Wanlass, PhD and invited guests.
